The Empire Strikes Back!

The political world of video games is notoriously one-sided. The US and Western Europe are the good guys (even in Japanese games), the former USSR and the Middle East are the bad. Now, an Iranian developing studio have done their best to even things out. The Special Operation is a traditional FPS,  but set in a very specific political context. Players take up the role of a Iranian Special Forces team, with the mission to rescue two nuclear scientists kidnapped by US operatives during their Karbala pilgrimage. The developers manage to take a swipe at their second arch-enemy as well, since the prisoners are detained in – surprise surprise – Israel. Guess the prospect of getting the chance to kill Jews was a little too intriguing to be left out…
